A Team of Adventurers: Journey Into One of the Towers

For the first time in history, the military might of the entire world's armies stood united against a common foe. All of the squabbles that seemed important enough to kill over before seemed to disappear. For the first time in recorded history, every humankin fought for survival alongside every manner of humankin. The Floating Lands would lower and monsters would spill onto the coastline. The Floating Lands would raise and would reposition.

A group of unlikely allies formed, each desperate in their own way to better understand the nature of the invasion. They made a journey to one of the towers, landing atop of one in a "borrowed" a hot air balloon.

Monsters met their metal right away. The towers, it seemed, were infested. The adventurers fought as hard as they could. They didn't make it very far, however, one of them did manage to grab a curious object as they were forced to retreat, a gauntlet made of pure diamond.
