The Great Calamity: Evacuation of The Floating Lands

On a simple summer morning, a single Dwarven inventor who didn't dabble in magic saw the massive island floating in the sky. With a curious mind completely unaware of the horror taking place, he prepped his latest invention, the hot air balloon.

He almost lost his life as well as his invention. He had landed on the edge not wanting to get caught in the trees. A desperate family of elves begged him to get them to safety, but there wasn't enough room for everyone. The few he was able to take saw the rest of their family cut down.

This began the evacuation efforts. The inventor, now a savior, rallied the people in the city he landed in and with the help of the local regeant began constructing a fleet of balloons. There are no records that show how many lives were saved. There are no records that show how many lives were lost.
