# The Great Calamity: A Massacre

As the people of Capital Isle were tending to their wounded, as the pillars of light connecting the towers faded and the stars began to appear, monsters came out of the night and decimated the surviving people of Capital Isle.

Over the course of several weeks the people were hunted, night and day, driven from their homes. Coastline residents had no means of escape. They could see the land below them moving as the Isle positioned itself over the mainland, but it was too far below.  None would have survived if it wasn't for Dwarven ingenuity on the mainland.
